Are you interested in working for one of the North West’s leading Fire Safety Consultants?
Fire Risk Assessment Consultants and Auditors
We are currently seeking experienced and appropriately qualified fire safety consultants and auditors to add to our existing team for an immediate start.
The role will be on a sub-contract basis with the majority of the work in the North West and North of England. Ideally you will be based in the North West or be prepared to travel to this area on a regular basis. Employed, permanent positions will also be considered for assessors and auditor roles for the right applicants.
You will ideally be from an extensive Fire Service, fire safety inspector background and have attended all the Fire Service College fire safety modules or in house equivalents. You will possess recognised industry fire safety qualifications such as a fire engineering degree, MIFireE, MIFSM, Eng Tech, HNC/D. Registration on an approved 3rd party accredited assessors register such as the IFE, IFSM (NAFRAR) or FRACS would be an advantage.
However, we are particularly interested in exploring the possibility of appointments from fire engineering graduates in their final year of their degree or having just graduated from the BSc (Hons) Fire Safety Engineering or Management courses from UCLAN or similar university course providers. However, your role is likely to be that of a fire risk assessor/consultant that would advise and comment on fire engineered solutions for buildings rather than pure fire engineering in respect of the design fire safety provisions for new builds.
You will need to demonstrate a proven track record in conducting and writing fire risk assessments and reports in a wide variety of premises to the highest of standards. You will also be required to manage your own workloads, be self-motivated and work to tight deadlines for submission of the FRAs.
A detailed understanding of risk analysis will be required as opposed to just advising and quoting current fire safety guidance and standards. All our assessments are completed in a Fire Risk Management Web Portal and as such exceptional report writing and IT skills will be required due to the high volume of FRAs we provide for our clients.
As the majority of our work is in social housing, experience of such work in the housing sector and in particular the Fire Safety Guide for Purpose Built Flats and the new Specialized Housing Guidance will be considered essential knowledge. Assessors will be expected to provide their own Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance (unless employed). This can be obtained at a discounted rate via our insurance broker.
If you are applying for the auditors role, you will be required to undertake a period of conducting FRAs for us in the first instance before being assessed as a “BAFE SP205:1 Life Safety Validator”
In return, we offer excellent rates of pay and regular weekly/monthly, long term varied work across all building types. Ideally we are looking for applicants that will provide a long term partnership with us, with TFS being the main source of your consultancy work if sub-contracted.
We are a BAFE SP 205:1 Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment certificated Company, accredited by UKAS and as such we maintain the highest standards possible. We provide regular CPD training and a mentoring programme for our consultants, and you will have access to fire safety support from a wide range of assessors and backgrounds.
If you are interested in partnering with one of the best and fastest growing fire consultancy practices in the North West and have a real passion for excellence and fire safety, then we would love to hear from you!
In the first instance please provide a full CV detailing qualifications and experience as detailed above, addressed to Darren Baird, Managing Director via email@example.com.
Please note that these positions have been re advertised due to applicants not meeting the above criterion.
What they say
"Due to internal resource issues we at Chessington World Of Adventures were struggling to meet our commitments of having "suitable and sufficient" fire risk assessment for all of our buildings and Rides on site. Meeting the challenge of maintaining our continued commitment to having "suitable and sufficient" fire risk assessments in place for all of our buildings and Rides on site required us to search for a competent third party supplier who could deliver our needs at a reasonable cost"
