Standard fire protection capabilities which are commonly found in premises open to the public – such as automatic fire doors, fire alarms or sprinkler systems – can be problematic in churches, synagogues, mosques and other places of worship due both to the fact that the buildings are often much older, and also due to the design: great halls and high ceilings mean such systems are almost impossible to fit.
This, combined with the congregation of a large number of people during services, means that effective evacuation plans must be in place. It also means that some control over the numbers of people within a building at any one time should be exercised.
At Total Fire Services, we work with our clients, advising them on the best possible fire safety in the context of what is realistically possible for the premises whilst ensuring premises are fully compliant, and that the safety of your congregation remains paramount.
“Total Fire Services Ltd, have carried out a number of services on our behalf. In October 2004, they carried out a full Fire Risk assessment on our building and also assessed our current building in 2006, after a major refurbishment. They also provided services to us in the form of staff and volunteer training, further to their contract to supply and maintain a variety of Fire Extinguishers around the building. They continue to review our fire risk assessment and procedures on a regular basis.
In our experience we have found them diligent, friendly and highly professional, we would totally endorse the company and the services they provide.”

What they say
"Due to internal resource issues we at Chessington World Of Adventures were struggling to meet our commitments of having "suitable and sufficient" fire risk assessment for all of our buildings and Rides on site. Meeting the challenge of maintaining our continued commitment to having "suitable and sufficient" fire risk assessments in place for all of our buildings and Rides on site required us to search for a competent third party supplier who could deliver our needs at a reasonable cost"
