Darren is Managing Director of Total Fire Services - a North West based fire safety consultancy company based in Bolton. Darren has over 16 years experience in the Greater Manchester Fire Service, his last promotion was in the role of Borough Fire Safety Manager (Assistant Divisional Officer).
Between 1990 and 2002 Darren was employed in the roles of operational fire-fighter, Leading Fire-fighter, Sub Officer and Station Officer, the roles also included the conducting of routine fire safety inspections on varying premises.
Darren provided a wide range of training courses to operational personnel in the form of lectures and practical drills and demonstrations. His training role also included the training of recruits in trauma care over a 2 year period.
In September 2002 he transferred from operational duties to the role of a dedicated fire safety officer based at a busy inner city office in Salford. 2003 brought promotion to the rank of Station Officer (Fire Safety) in the city centre of Manchester, where he remained for 18 months dealing with some of the most complex buildings in the country. After this period he transferred to the fire safety department in Stretford, which involved the conducting of inspections at the Trafford Centre, one of the largest shopping complexes in the country. The area is also a high industrial area with varying premises types including complex chemical and processing plants.
In May 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Divisional Officer, fire safety manager for the borough of Rochdale. The role was responsible for the fire safety management and direction of resources for the borough of Rochdale and incorporated 3 shopping complexes, 3 hospitals, 108 schools, 135 HMO's, 134 care homes, 25 hotels, 326 factories, 179 offices, and 44 shops. The role also involved dealing with all building regulations consultations for the borough, the issuing of enforcement notices, prohibitions and prosecutions of premises and the day-to-day management of fire safety inspections. It is with this experienced background that Total Fire Services is managed.Darren is a highly qualified and experienced Fire Safety Consultant. Darren's professional qualifications include:
