It’s been a busy start to the year for Total Fire Services, having just won a major contract with Blackpool Coastal Housing. Created by Blackpool Council, the aim of the organisation was to manage their housing stock of 5,500 houses and flats, and to undertake the Landlord functions for all of its properties.
Our task involves carrying out around 80 comprehensive fire risk assessments for their residential buildings, including 3 large (22 story) tower blocks. We will also assist the organisation in reviewing their fire safety policies and procedures ensuring they are up to date in terms of the health, safety and welfare of all residents and anyone who would work on/visit said premises.
We will assess all buildings in terms of the identification of fire hazards, identifying the persons who may be at risk, evaluating these risks and monitoring/reviewing the processes carries out to ensure all properties comply with legal obligations.
Our 160 question audit process carried out by fire safety consultants with many years combined experience will ensure BCH’s properties are assessed for fire risks to life, property and business continuity.
We are working on a tight schedule at the moment, working to complete all fire risk assessments by the end of February.
Blackpool Coastal Housing is an ambitious organisation striving to provide the best housing service in the North West, representing best value to the tenants of Blackpool Council and the wider community. We feel privileged to be working with them and their properties and are looking forward to a jam packed 2014.
